Self-healing your soul

This may seem a grandiose statement – "you can self-heal your soul" – yet I hope that this page will give you some insights and tips for improving your life VERY easily.

The beginning of self-healing is to gain calmness in your mind. Once the mind is calm, it can rule the body. Some very simple exercises can help you attain calmness and I've divided them into three parts. Separately they are powerful, but used in unison, they are unstoppable!

Part one of calming your mind is to BREATHE. First thing in the morning, and whenever you feel tense – breathe.

Part two is to practise what is often called "the white-lighting technique". This is visualising the purest divine light from God pouring down over your being.

Part three is praying. Asking God for help. (If you don't believe in God, click here for an explanation).

Now let's put them all together.

White lighting and breathing

First take a deep breath – not too deep – and slowly exhale. When you get to the end of your breath, try breathing out a bit more, and a bit more still. This will totally empty your lungs of stale air. Then take your first real breath.

Slowly breathe in through your nose, and as you inhale say in your mind "I am breathing in God's healing light". While doing this, visualise the purest divine white light enveloping you. Feel yourself being energised. You may visualise it as a shower of white raindrops, or just as a total swirl of white light around you. Visualise this gently – don't feel that you are forcing it.

Then slowly exhale, and as you exhale, say to yourself, "I'm breathing out all tension, pain and stress". (You can use your own words if you want, as long as the intent is the same.)

Do this a few times, slowly breathing in and out. Breathing in God's healing light and energy, and breathing out impurities and tensions. Don't do too many breaths, or do it too deeply or you may get overly light-headed. Probably a maximum of six or so until you can find your own comfortable level.

(An option for breathing out is to make an Om sound. Make it a long comfortable 'drone'. The virbration of this can be very calming.)

White lighting and praying

After doing the breath exercise, you should already feel a bit calmer, and your heart rate should be nice and balanced, probably slower than it was. Now is the time to say a prayer.

Continue to visualise the divine white light surrounding you – and pray. It only needs to be something simple. Pray for calm in your life. Ask for God's protection and love to surround you and those you love. (There's a sample prayer at the bottom of this page). Do this for about a minute or for longer if you want to meditate for a while.

(If you are going to meditate, you don't need to continually pray – just once will do it – and the rest of the time simply continue to feel the white light around you and try and clear your mind).

Some of you will be thinking, "you've got to be joking, how can THAT change my life". Well it does... take my word for it! :-) I've seen too many examples of it to doubt. If you white light yourself every morning and night (and during the day if you're feeling tense), your days WILL be easier, things will come to you easier, and you'll find more joy in things that you do.

Why does this work?

The breath section calms you physically, that's why it's a good place to start. Whereas the white-light technique and the prayer are much more powerful than that. Together they bring you closer to God. The white light raises your vibrations, cleanses your body's energy (aura) and your mind of negativity, and brings your whole being closer to the Divine.

If you say something like "Dear God, please bring me $1,000,000", then you will most likely be disappointed. But when you pray for the simplest of things – calmness, love, protection, being closer to God – it WILL be granted. The purpose of our life is to express God more fully, and this is a fantastic way of beginning that, so your Guides will be queuing up to assist you in this endeavour.

A sample prayer

In case you're feeling a bit short of words, here's a sample prayer you could use to get you started. It's always good to come out with your own words rather than reciting a formula – the meaning and intent can get a bit stale – so while you white light yourself, say something like this:

In the name of Christ
I ask for the light of God
to surround and uplift me.
Fill me with Your light, love, strength and protection.
Help to bring me closer to God each day.
Amen.

Now you may have noticed that I used the words "In the name of Christ". This is what I most often use because for me, Christ consciousness represents divinity. You may not be comfortable with using that. Use what YOU feel represents divinity – God, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, Krsna, Divine Spirit, Divine Creator – whatever you're most comfortable with.
